How a Fire Sprinkler Works – Global World of Business
emergency.
To maximize the effectiveness of sprinklers, fire sprinkler contractors put them into special patterns. Sprinklers consist of a sprinkler head, glass bulb, frame as well as a head for the sprinkler. It is linked to the main water supply, which flows throughout the building.
The water flows through pipes by the plug. The bulb made of glass will crack when the temperature in the space is reached. The different colored bulbs come with distinct breaking point. For example, red bulbs break at 153 degrees Fahrenheit and green bulbs break at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
The bulb might explode then the water flow across the frame until it reaches the head of the sprinkler. The sprinkler head then disperses the water across the entire room. Some sprinklers operate on dry-pipes that are also activated by heat. If the bulb breaks accidentally it will not cause damage. The water won’t run unless there’s a fire.
